Zhengzhou Zoo (郑州动物园) - In October 2007, an 18-year old female giant panda numbered as #374 from Sichuan Woolong arrived in Zhengzhou, and started its 3-year leased residence in the Zoo.  The panda later named was later named Du Du (嘟嘟).  The giant panda Du Du is expected to return to her Sichuan hometown in 2010. 
 
Du Du arrived in Zhengzhou in Oct 2007.
 
Du Du was born in wild in 1989, and she was found and rescued from in Sichuan's Leibo County (四川省雷波县).  Du Du was later moved to Chengdu Zoo on January 14, 1992 and moved again to Woolong Giant Panda Breeding Center on October 25, 1995.

In August, 2000, Du Du gave birth to a twin, one died during the birth but another female cub named Long Xin (龙欣) survived.  During 2002 to 2005, Du Du gave birth to 4 more healthy cubs, among them her daughter Tuan Tuan was sent to Taiwan as a gift in the end of 2008. 
 
Previously, Zhengzhou Zoo also had a few giant pandas in the past.  In September 1985 one month after the zoo opening, there were two giant pandas numbered #1 and #2 came to the zoo for a 2-year leased program from Woolong Giant Panda Breeding Center.  In 1990, the zoo borrowed a giant panda named Shun Shun (顺顺) from Shanxi Fuping Natural Reserve (陕西佛坪自然保护区), and again another panda named Jiao Jiao (娇娇) in 1995.  All four pandas were about 20 years old when they arrived.  There were no more giant pandas in the zoo after 1997 until Du Du arrived in 2007.
